Picnic Area @ LA Zoo

LA Zoo is very nice to walk around, even in summer. As long as you get there early and leave before 1 or 2pm, it shouldn't be too crowded. We usually tried to arrive at the Zoo latest by 11am. Parking is so easy and available at the very front of the parking lot, it is located about 100 feet from the entrance.

Most of the time when we visit LA Zoo, we will bring some food/snacks with us. Most of the food sold over at the Zoo are fast food type - hotdogs, burgers, french fries, nachos ... so on. Sometimes, we bring with us Brandon's lunch too - his rice porridge, in a vacuum container to keep warm. It is like going to a picnic. We walk around the Zoo and stop at the mid point and have a snack. Our favorite spot recommended by Rhoda's daughter is by the giraffe's exhibit. It is a quiet and hidden spot. Not too many people know about that picnic area. It has a lot of space if kids need to run around and even view the giraffe while having snack/lunch.

We also like to picnic by the entrace where they used to have nice round tables and chairs underneath the big canopies which provide shades. But they removed the furnitures during our visit today.

Today we found a new spot at the zoo. It is the children's playground area. We never knew about this area until today. It is well hidden at the back of the Zoo. It has a nice play area for the kids and many tables and benches for picnic. It will be fun for the kids to run around and play at the playground.
