Mimi's Cafe @ Torrance

This is the only Mimi's Cafe in South Bay area. It is located across Crenshaw Blvd (nearest cross street - Pacific Coast Highway) from the Rolling Hills Plaza with the AMC Theaters. It is on the same lot as the Kohl's and Circuit City. Parking is easily available if you are early. It may be harder when you arrived during lunch or dinner time as they do have a lot of patrons. It opens 7 days a week from 7am to 11pm serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We arrived prior to 11am and parking was easy. There were not too many people inside as well. We were seater immediately. I like the interior setting of this cafe as it feels very homey. It has the French/Mediterennean atmostphere to it. The server came and took our order. We decided to try their Seafood Sampler (see picture below) and the Petite SouthWestern Salad and daily soup. The Seafood Sampler consists of deep fried cod fillets, four coconut shrimps and lump & blue crab cake, served with french fries and creamy coleslaw. The petite salad and soup comes with their freshly baked blueberry muffin. The waitress came back with some cheerios for my boy. He was happily munching on those while we enjoyed our lunch meal.

When we left the restaurant, there was a waiting line for tables. I guess is always good to be early.

My opinion on the food:
I like their soup. The SouthWestern Salad was good too. The cod fillets were good. And I love the creamy coleslaw and the yummy french fries. But the crab cake wasn't fresh enough. It has the fishy smell to it. At least, my boy was really enjoying the cheerios he was having and he was happily chit-chatting with the ladies next to us. Pricing is average (~$8-$15) for their lunch menu.
