Online Shopping No Sales Tax

I shopped 90% for my last year Christmas gifts online. Not like I needed to get a lot of stuff, but I had difficulty going out with a young infant to shop at the local mall. The mall is always very crowded during this holiday season as so many people will be shopping for their gift lists. By shopping online I did it when I had the time while the baby is sleeping, in my own sweet home and most of the times still in my PJ. Also I saved time travelling on the road and finding parking space.

I like buying items from Amazon.com as it comes with free shipping if the total purchase amount is $25 and above. And second most importantly is NO SALES TAX for California residents. A lot of times the price may be equal as what we would have paid if we buy it from the brick and mortar stores. But if I am not in a hurry to get my hands on the item, I would rather buy it online and wait for them to deliver it as I will pay the total less the 8.25% Los Angeles County sales tax. Though if the item price is low, it may not make a huge different. But say if I want to get a DSLR camera that cost $1000, the sales tax does make a huge different. That's why I love shopping online.

i prefer shopping online too, if the price is equal (sometimes even less) than shop fronts - saves on fuel, parking and time! Unfortunately no website here can match Amazon with free delivery if purchase above $25. But most good online sites offer a flat delivery charges of AU$5.95 - AU$9.95

true true. most of the online stores here offer flat rate shipping as well, like overstock. it is very seldom to get free shipping except for amazon.com. that's why i shop at amazon.com very frequently. i even buy diapers there when they have sales.
