We went to OCFair

Last Saturday we went to Orange County Fair. We arrived around 1130am and the que for parking was a little longer than expected. But it only took a while to get through as there were 4 attendants collecting the parking fee, $5 per car. We had to walk a little to the entrance, wasn't that far. The regular Orange Country Swapmeet is close during the OCFair. The entrance to the park has a big tent over it and there is a security check point before entering to the ticket booths.

There are many ticket booths and they do accept payments with credit cards. We were greeted by a huge unfinished sand scrulpture upon entering the fair. We walked towards the Centennial Farm (to our left after the entrance). There are some indoors centers/events but mostly outdoors. We saw some farm animals and a huge vegetables garden.

Next to the Centennial Farm is the Craft Fair. They are almost the same sellers from the Orange Country Swapmeet. Anyway, we just walked around it towards the Kidsland where our first stop for amusement park games. Unfortunately we didn't find any that seems interesting enough. We headed towards the Livestock Arena where they display livestocks - goats, cows, pigs, rabbits, and more.

We stopped for lunch after that. I had they award winning cinnamon rolls for $3.75 - which was good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside ... not overly sweet either, just nice. Hubby had a basket of onion rings and deep fried potatoes. There were only 6 onion rings.

We continued to the Adult's amusement park area also known as the Carnival. My son eyed on the HUGE FERRIS WHEEL. It needs 8 tickets for the ride but we bought 10 tickets for $5 because that is the lowest increment they are selling at the ticket booth. It was nice to be up there as I got the best ground view of fair from top.

It was about 3 hours we've been there and we decided to leave. It was a great outing and definitely will return the next year around. But I have to remember to put on sunscreen on my son next time, he got so tanned from this visit.

CW from Top left: The fair from parking lot, entrance where we bought our tickets ($8 each), the fair after the entrance, the huge sand scrulpture greeting visitors at entrance (artists still working on it).

Centennial Farm with vegetables garden and some farm animals too.

Craft fair, walking towards Kidsland, at Kidsland miniature merry-go-around.

Specialty food stalls - deep fried coke, deep fried twinkies, the huge merry-go-around which we rode one from far, and the carousel.

Ground view from the top of the merry-go-around.
