Monovision Lasik

My husband went to his annual optometrist appointment yesterday. My son and I tagged along with him for a free car ride. Yes, my son loves car rides. While we were in the waiting room, I overhead some patients were talking about Monovision Lasik. I was curious about the term “Monovision” so I came home and did a search on Google about the procedure.

Monovision Lasik is a procedure for aging people that has Presbyopia, a condition where the eyes lose flexibility of the crystalline lens and it limits the eyes ability to change focus from a far object to a near object. The problem can be corrected but not cured, either by refractive surgery or wearing contact lenses. Monovision Lasik has been available in the market for quite a while but only recently approved by FDA.

I think my aunt will benefit from Monovision Lasik as she has always have to wear reading glasses when she reads the newspaper and then take it out and use another glasses or contact lenses for her near sighted vision.
