Below is an excerpt from CBS News website:

(AP) LOS ANGELES Calling all Wookies...or at least everyone with a really good Chewbacca costume.

The opening day of the "Star Wars" Celebration at the Los Angeles convention center is Thursday and only members of the official Star Wars Fan Club are invited.

Some 10,000 Wookies, Jawas and Jedi Knights -- and their admirers -- are expected to descend upon the convention center.

Non-fan-club members can attend the five-day celebration starting tomorrow.

The event is being held in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the release of the original "Star Wars" movie.

Friday, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will declare it "Star Wars" Day in Los Angeles, and U.S. Postal Service officials will reveal the "Star Wars" stamp.
