Ruby the Elephant Leaves L.A. Zoo

Long time L.A. Zoo resident Ruby the elephant has left the zoo to a 40 acre elephant sanctuary in Northern California. Ruby is a 46 yrs old African elephant. Protesters have longed pushed for this move, since they have said the small quarters at the L.A. Zoo simply does not have enough space for a full grown elephant. Currently, the zoo is contructing a Pachyderm Forest Exhibit, it is scheduled to open November 2009.
