Reggie the alligator

Many of you in Los Angeles might be familiar with an alligator named Reggie. Back in the year 2005, Reggie was dumped into the murky water of Machado Lake in Los Angeles Park Lagoon by its owner because it was too big for his tank. Reggie then has became like a celebrity in Harbor City whereby a lot of visitors has been pouring into the park when the news was aired.

There were many attempts to capture Reggie made by several teams of alligator hunters from Florida and Louisiana, but all failed. Afterwards, Reggie was not sighted for about two years and only recently being annouced that it is back.

Before Steve Irwin's death, he had promised that if no one else able to capture Reggie, he would come over all the way from Australia to finish the job. Unfortunately, Steve Irwin died during his expedition filming the poisonous stingray when his heart was pierced by the stingray's barb.

However, this promise will be realized by the team of crocodile hunters from the late Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo. Qantas Airways has agreed to fly the crews and equipments to LA in early July.
